Bush, Bolton and Bye Bye U.N.

Bush, Bolton and Bye Bye U.N.
By: Jack Dalton

Much is being made about the hold up in the Senate over John Bolton’s confirmation as Ambassador to the United Nations. Democrats are patting themselves on the back for not allowing Bolton to get confirmed; people around the country are patting them on the back for not allowing a vote on Bolton; repuglicans are still screaming “obstructionism;” in other words, situation normal in congress.

Thru it all, I do believe what is going on in the senate, in the so-called opposition to the Bolton nomination, is all show and no go. There is not a single person in the Senate that does not know; that does not fully understand that John Bolton will be the BushCon man to be Ambassador to the U.N. no matter what anyone thinks or says—Bush will sign an executive order during the 4th of July congressional recess and John Bolton with receive a “recess appointment.”

By the time the “smoke” clears, John Bolton will be at the U.N and BushCo once again gets everything it wants and demands. The Senate Democrats will then be able to pontificate on how they struggled and worked so hard on behalf of the American people to prevent Bolton’s confirmation--Appearances, appearances, appearances—nothing but illusions, perceptions and appearances.

What is going on in the “hallowed halls” of congress is nothing more than one great big game of “one-up-man-ship power politics” and we the people of this nation are no-where in the mix.

BushCo has refused to become a signatory on the International Criminal Court; BushCo has used economic extortion on various nations to compel them to sign “force protection agreements” which simply stated mean Americans will not be subject to the laws of those various nations; and now, Bolton, who has stated he wants to see the U.N. gone, will go there to do just that, see it gone.

The U.N. is the only international organization left that could bring charges against Bush and BushCo for waging “wars against peace; wars of aggression; and war crimes. What better way to head that potential off than to send someone to the U.N. that is essentially an “enemy” of the U.N. and wants to see it gone?

Between Bolton at the U.N. and Paul Wolfowitz at the World Bank and the U.S. Senate rubber stamping every BushCo nominee, whether judges, or as in this case ambassadors, the GOP’s plan to “restructure the entirety of the federal government” applies not only here in the U.S., but it would appear the GOP is out to “restructure the world” and in its own image--and at the same time do whatever is needed, at least in their own minds, to prevent anyone within BushCo from having to stand trial as the war criminals that they are.

Jack Dalton, Keep on Telling it like It IS, And I will Keep listening. If it is true that Bush is attempting to change term limits for the Presidency to a three-term limit...it must be stopped in its` tracks right now. Too many people are not tuned in to what a disasterous mistake Bush is.. and on pure ignorance / inattention to the political scene... if that Slipped Thru ( Like some other things he sneaked thru ) it would add to our problems. We look forward to the last day of his second term. Lets` don`t muddy the waters any more than they have already been muddied. I dream of Impeachment every day...that would come Before the last day of Bushs` second term ! Give us 'something' o hope for ! This country is being sold down the River by this man.. VGF
